April Fools’ Day is a favoured holiday if you’re a person who works alongside other people throughout the year. This is the one day that you get to play pranks on your colleagues and get away with it. However, you might not be sure of which pranks are going to be acceptable and which ones are going to go too far. The best workplace pranks don’t have to involve a lot of time or effort, and they will still get the right amount of laughs and fun.
Covering Someone’s Desk with Sticky Notes
One of the best pranks you can play in a workplace setting is to cover someone’s desk with sticky notes. They can be placed all over someone’s computer, all over their desk and drawers, and everywhere they spend most of their time working. This will make for a good laugh when that person opens their office door, and it will also be harmless enough that nobody will get too upset.
Computer Pranks on April Fools’ Day
When your co-worker gets to work on April Fools’ Day, it will make for a good laugh if they aren’t able to use their own computer. If they log on and see everything is in Chinese, everybody can get a good laugh at that person’s expense. Also, this is something that’s easy to fix considering everybody has translation apps on their phone, but it will still make for some hilarious expressions from the person who sits down at the computer with a foreign language on it. Or, you can go on someone’s computer and press Ctrl+Alt+Down Arrow and the screen and mouse controls will be inverted! This is sure to make everybody in the office laugh as they notice a co-worker’s confusion when they sit down at the computer.
Air Horn under the Seat
One of the best workplace pranks you can also set is to attach an air horn underneath someone’s desk chair. When they sit down, the air horn will be triggered and surprise the person who is settling down to get work done. Your co-worker will not be expecting a loud sound to come from underneath their seat and will likely jump in surprise. This is going to be hilarious to the people who are watching it happen as the person who is jumping in surprise will likely make some entertaining expressions.
Ceiling Fan Prank
One of the funniest pranks for a workplace that has ceiling fans is to put small bits of shredded paper or even marshmallows all over the top of the fan blades while it’s turned off. When your co-worker comes into a room and flips the switch, they will be showered with paper bits or marshmallows and everybody will surely get a good laugh out of it.
Pranking your co-workers can make April Fools’ Day much more entertaining. This is one day out of the year where people can relax and get a good laugh as opposed to being so serious all the time. However, be sure that you don’t go overboard when pranking someone or do something that will ruin someone’s day because this could make for some problems in the workplace, which is not something anybody wants to deal with. Having a little fun on this day is important, but so is keeping it appropriate.
